A New Zealand fan has brutally trolled Australia batsmen Joe Burns and Steve Smith for their struggles with the bat in the ongoing Test series against India. While the fan was sitting miles away from Australia, cheering his team in Christchurch during the ongoing second Test against Pakistan, he made sure to take shots at the Trans-Tasman rivals.

Both Burns and Smith have been in awful form in the ongoing season. In fact, Burns was recently dropped from Australia’s Test squad for the remaining two Tests of the series. After a string of poor performances in domestic cricket and the tour games against India, Burns managed to get a place in the playing eleven for the first two Tests.

He, however, failed to grab the opportunity.  The right-hander did score an unbeaten fifty in the second innings of the first Test to buy himself some time but his failure in the second Test finally prompted the Australian team-management to take the tough call. Burns was axed after registering scores of 0 and 4 in the MCG Test.

Steve Smith struggles too as fan trolls him and Burns

Steve Smith is going through one of his worst phases as a Test batsman. Consistency has been synonymous with his form in Tests but the Australia batting mainstay has struggled to deliver in the series so far. He started the season on a stunning note by scoring two 62-ball tons in a row during the ODI series against India.

But since then, his form has dipped and his performances in the ongoing series has been awful. In four innings so far, he has registered scores of 1, 1*, 8 and 0. And with both Burns and Smith struggling to do well with the bat, the New Zealand fan has rubbed more salt to their wounds by taking sly digs at them.

While watching the match between the Black Caps and Pakistan, he came up with a placard that read: “Cricket Bats For Sale. Barely used. Call: S. Smith J. Burns.”

Here is a tweet showing the fan with the placard:
