From being No.1 Test team at the start of October, Pakistan have come down to No.4 after getting whitewashed in the 2-match Test series in New Zealand. After taking a 55-run first innings lead, Ross Taylor ended his run drought with a century and helped New Zealand to post 313 for 5 before they declared. Needing 369 runs in 101 overs, Pakistan held all the wickets for 60 overs before losing all the 10 wickets in a span of less than 200 balls. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the game.

0 – Number of times since 2002, Pakistan went into a Test without a specialist spinner. Pakistan dropped their specialist spinner in this Test. Last time they played without a spinner was in 2001 vs England at Lord’s.

1 – First time since 1986, Pakistan lost a Test series to New Zealand. Last time they lost a series to NZ was in 1985 also in NZ.

2 – Younis Khan getting out in single digits in four consecutive Test innings is only the 2nd such instance for him. He got out for a duck in the last innings of West Indies series and in single digits in the first 3 innings he batted in this series. Last and only other time it happen to him was in 2002.

3 – For the 3rd time Pakistan were bowled out without adding even 100 runs after a century opening stand in Tests. They added 99 runs after losing their first wicket on 131 in 2nd innings of this game.

4 – Number of centuries Ross Taylor has scored in Tests at Hamilton, the 2nd most by a New Zealander at a single venue in this format. Martin Crowe has 5 centuries at Wellington.

9 – Number of wickets Pakistan lost in the final session on the 5th day, the most by any team after Tea on the final day to lose a Test. Three teams have lost 8 wickets in the final session to lose the Test.

9 – Number of centuries Ross Taylor has scored in New Zealand in Tests, the 2nd most by any player. John Wright scored 10 centuries in Tests in New Zealand.

11 – Number of consecutive innings in Tests Ross Taylor played before his century without a fifty. He scored just 140 runs in those 11 innings.

16 – Number of centuries Ross Taylor has scored in Test cricket, 2nd most by a New Zealand player. Martin Crowe scored 17 centuries in Tests.

16 – Runs aggregated by Younis Khan in this series, the joint lowest by a Pakistan batsman batting at least 4 innings in top 5. Majid Khan also aggregated 16 runs in 1967 series vs England.

24 – Number of Tests Tim Southee went through without a five-fer at home. His first and the other five-wicket haul in Tests at home before this game was in his debut Test in 2008.

30 – Number of players including Mohammad Rizwan got out for a first-ball duck on Test debut batting in top 6. Among Pakistan players, Mohammad Rizwan and Rizwan-uz-Zaman are the only players to bag a golden duck on debut batting in top 6.

360 – Balls faced by Azhar Ali and Sami Aslam pair for the first wicket in the 2nd innings of this Test, the 2nd most by a Pakistani opening pair. (Where ball data is available) Highest is 407 balls by the same duo. They did it against West Indies in  the 1st innings of the day/night Test.

2014 – Last time Ross Taylor scores a fifty before his century in the 2nd innings at home. He went 12 Test innings at home without a fifty.
