India stands one step away from completing a whitewash in the 5-match T20I series against New Zealand after yet another win in the Super Over. Both the teams missed their respective stars from the 3rd T20I during the 4th match as India rested Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami. The NZ skipper Kane Williamson was also missed due to a shoulder niggle. India could be seen making few more experiments.

All the key stats and numbers that matter ahead of the 4th T20I match in Wellington on Friday:

1 – Colin Munro is the only player to score multiple centuries at a venue in T20I cricket which he did at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. Munro aggregated 307 runs in 5 T20Is and also scored a fifty alongside the two tons. He averages 61.4 here and has a strike rate of 193.08.

4-1 – New Zealand has a win-loss record of 4-1 in the T20I matches at the Bay Oval out of the six matches played. The T20I on 2018 New Year Day was washed out after 9 overs.

The last T20I here was played in January 2018 between the hosts and Pakistan. Kiwis lost it by 18 runs which is the only time New Zealand lost a T20I here.

5-0 – If India wins the last match on Sunday, they will be the first side to whitewash an opponent in a five or more match T20I series in Men’s cricket. In fact, the ongoing series is only the 4th T20I series of 5+ games in Men’s cricket.

8* – India is currently on their longest unbeaten streak in the T20I format of 8 matches. They have not lost a T20I game starting from the Mumbai T20I against West Indies. India had three streaks of 7 consecutive wins in the past – in 2012-2014, in 2016 and in 2018.

8* – New Zealand has not won any of the 8 International matches they played. Their last win came at the Bay Oval in the Test against England. This streak of 8 matches is the longest without a win in International Cricket for the Kiwis since the start of 2013.

They failed to register a win in 10 consecutive matches during their tour of Sri Lanka in 2012. Blackcaps lost six matches during that streak while two games apiece ended in a Tie and without a result.

57.75 – Martin Guptill has a batting average of 57.75 in the Twenty20 format at the Bay Oval. He scored 231 runs across five T20s here with help of three half-centuries. All the three fifties came across the four T20I matches he played at this venue.

10 – Ish Sodhi has picked up 10 wickets across five T20I innings at the Bay Oval; the most T20I wickets for a player here. He has a bowling average of 16.3 and a strike rate of 12 in T20Is at this venue. Sodhi’s 19 T20 wickets are also the most for a player at the Bay Oval.

145.47 – Among the T20I venues that hosted at least five matches, the batting strike of 145.47 at the Bay Oval is the 2nd highest in Men’s cricket. This venue hosted six T20I matches thus far where they witnessed two tons and 8 fifties. The highest batting SR at a T20I venue is 149.34 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

13969 – Runs Rohit Sharma aggregated in his International career thus far. He needs 31 more runs to become the 8th Indian to complete 14000 runs in International Cricket. Rohit scored only 80 runs across the first three T20Is and was rested for the 4th match.
