Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shahryar Khan has gone on to state that there will be no possibility of a bilateral series between India and Australia in the near future given the fact that there is as much of a political unrest as there is at the time.

At the moment, there is a lot of unrest in recent times along the Line of Control that separates the two nations. The unrest has also seen both sides take both diplomatic as well as military options in their arsenal, something they have made futile attempts not to exercise since the Kargil War in 1999.

Shahryar Khan had also stated in a few earlier interviews that the board had suffered the brunt of isolation. He also went on to request the ICC to setup a fund in a bid for the survival of Pakistan cricket. In recent times, the PCB has sought permission to play against the Indians in a bilateral series.

The BCCI however, has rebuffed all their responses in recent times with even the government chipping in support of the Indian-based board. This has also seen the PCB go to great lengths to get the Indians to play a bilateral series against them, only for the political unrest to come in from time to time and halt the progression of the series.

“Let me say it very categorically, there is no chance of a Pakistan vs India bilateral series unless the political ties between the two countries are improved,” he said. “But as soon as political tension is defused, cricket will automatically resume.”

He however, went on to state that things between the neighbors was improving. Khan said he hoped both countries will be able to normalize their relations. “I believe things are gradually improving,” he said.
