India is known as a secular state that is neutral to every other the religions. Hence, the CAA hasn’t gone down well with many by any means and therefore, the massive outrage. Even internet services in a number of states have been brought to a halt. Of late, after the CAA came to the fore, the students of Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) in New Delhi were attacked by the Delhi Police.
The Police entered the university, allegedly fired tear gas shells and also resorted to lathi charge. The assault injured at least 100 students, who were taken to the hospital in ambulances.
