Not thinking about Test right now: Wriddhiman Saha

Team India wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha is a thorough professional. Albeit he is known to be a man of the longer formats, Saha’s heroics in the shortest format of the game must not be ignored. Often seen in Indian whites, many forget that the Bengal batsman is not a light weight in the T20s. Wriddhiman Saha is currently all focused on the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is India’s premier domestic T20 tournament.

Saha will be seen in the Bengal team in the tournament and has been given a new role going in to the tournament. Wriddhiman Saha will open the innings for team Bengal and the batsman is up for the challenge. As per the quotes in Sportzwiki, Saha mentioned that he is not thinking about Test cricket at all. All that he is keen on focusing at the moment is doing well as the opener for the Bengal team.

The wicketkeeper-batsman quoted, “I am not at all thinking about Test now. I have set my eyes on the Syed Mushtaq Ali Championship and my aim is to contribute runs as an opener in the championship.” India are scheduled to play a one off Test against Bangladesh after the conclusion of the T20 tournament. The national team will then host Australia for a long 4 match Test series.

By the look of things, it is evident that Saha is confident of switching gears across the formats. Wriddhiman Saha, who has an IPL century to his name, had recently scored an unbeaten double ton for Rest of India in the Irani Trophy. Now, he is all set to shift gears to T20 mode as Bengal takes on Tripura in their first encounter of Syed Mushtaq Ali 2017. Bengal will play Tripura on January 31 at their home ground Eden Gardens and then take on Assam at the very same venue.
