Indian Test captain Virat Kohli has been in a rich vein of form and it was quite evident from the way he batted at the Wankhede Stadium on a pitch conducive for the bowlers. Along with Jayant Yadav, the duo stitched together a record 251 run partnership for the 8th wicket to take India’s first innings total to 631, 231 runs ahead of England’s first innings total. It was a brilliant display of batsmanship by the modern legend who has taken batting to a whole new level. Kohli was eventually dismissed after scoring 235.
His work ethics and rigorous fitness regime have made him what he is today. Among his huge fan base, King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan is also a big fan of arguably the greatest batsman of the modern generation and took to his twitter handle to express his feelings. He was delighted with the way Kohli played at the Wankhede and said nothing would have been better than watching Kohli bat on a Sunday. This was after a long time Shahrukh sat and watched a Test match for long hours and the main reason behind that was the heartthrob of Indian cricket Virat Kohli.
Shah Rukh Khan who is undoubtedly one of the greatest entertainers of all time had earlier congratulated Kohli on his sublime IPL last year and didn’t forget to mention even then that he was a great fan of his batting. The man of the moment has already taken Indian cricket to an unseen high and the way he is handling his troops at the moment despite his aggressive nature, he is bound to take Indian cricket to greater heights in the coming future and it won’t be a surprise if he goes on to become one of the greatest ever Test captains.
In his short captaincy tenure, Kohli has already won Test series against South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, New Zealand and is all set to beat England by a comprehensive margin.
Nothing better than to watch @imVkohli bat so sublime on a day off. Now to sit back & watch a test match after so many days.
