The Indian team have found themselves in a lot of trouble after getting bowled out for a paltry total of 107 at Lord’s. James Anderson proved to be their nemesis as he picked the 26th five-wicket haul of his Test career and the onus is now on the visitors’ bowlers to deliver and restrict the hosts to a similar total as well. However, Gautam Gambhir also feels the same and wants India to go on an all-out attack and catch England off-guard with an aggressive display on the field.

To their dismay, Virat Kohli has also missed a trick with the team combination it seems. Umesh Yadav has been benched and they are playing with two spinners in the conditions helpful for the fast bowlers which leave Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami to get going almost immediately on the third day.

Pandya should bowl well

Gautam Gambhir, while speaking to the Times of India, felt that Team India should turn up with aggression and the conditions will be the same for the home side as well. “India should turn up with a lot of aggression as they’ve got nothing to lose now, ” he said. He also felt that Hardik Pandya, as the third seamer, should be taking up the responsibility to pick wickets along with Shami and Ishant.

“The task will be cut out for the bowlers on day 3. They’re playing three seamers with Hardik as the third seamer. Ishant and Shami will have to put their hand up and swing the ball the same way it was doing yesterday. India will be hoping that Hardik bowls well because he needs to chip in with wickets after failing with the bat,” the left-hander added.

Gambhir was also hopeful of India making a comeback at Lord’s with a brilliant bowling performance while highlighting the importance of the second Test in a five-match series.
