Brendon McCullum (6 venues) is the only player before Williamson to score Test tons at five or more grounds in New Zealand.

A hundred after been put in to bat:

2 – Kane Williamson is only the 2nd captain to score a hundred in the first innings after been sent into bat by Pakistan. Stephen Fleming was the first to do so who made 192 in the 2003 Hamilton Test match.

Williamson is also the first player to score a first-innings hundred after been sent into bat by Pakistan since Dimuth Karunaratne in the 2015 Pallekele Test match.

Middle-order rescues New Zealand:

1 – No.3, No.4, No.5 and No.6 batsmen in New Zealand’s line-up during the first innings scored 50+ runs each. This is the first time in Test history where New Zealand’s No.3, No.4, No.5 and No.6 batters scored 50+ runs in the same innings.

3 – New Zealand’s first innings is only the 3rd occasion in Test cricket where both the openers got out for single digits but the No.3 to No.6 batsmen scored 50+ runs. Yasir Shah @ 600:

602 – Yasir Shah completed 600 wickets in first-class cricket when he got the better of Kane Williamson. It was also the first Test wicket in New Zealand for Yasir who went wicketless in his previous Test appearance on the New Zealand soil.
