After a refreshing break on Thursday, three matches were played on the sixth day of the ongoing Oman D10 tournament. Ruwi Rangers, Qurum Thunders and Ghubrah Giants were the teams to register wins as they played some brilliant cricket on the day.
In the opening game, Amerat Royals could never got going after opting to bat first. They were bundled out for just 69 runs in 9.5 overs. Only Karan Sonavale (21) and Shahbaz Anwar (20*) reached double-figures for them. It was a collective effort with the ball from the Rangers with four of their bowlers picking two wickets each. In response, their openers Hanan Rizan and Shafqatullah reached the target in just 5 overs notching up a ten-wicket win for the side.
Brief Scores
Amerat Royals – 69/10 after 9.5 overs (K Sonavale 21; M Patel 2/1)
Ruwi Rangers – 70/0 after 5 overs (H Rizan 33*, Shafquatullah 29*)
The encounter between Qurum Thunders and Khuwair Warriors was a high-scoring affair but the Thunders were yet again clinical in their chase. After opting to bat first, the Warriors marched on to score 108 runs for the loss of 8 wickets on the back of a scintillating knock from Sean Nowak who smashed 48 runs off 20 balls.
However, his effort went in vain as the duo Kashyap Prajapati and Jatinder Singh smashed 106 runs in just 5.4 overs to set the team up for an easy win. They went past the target in just 6.3 overs to win by a whopping nine wickets.
Brief Scores
Khuwair Warriors – 108/8 after 10 overs (S Nowak 48; S Khan 4/16)
Qurum Thunders – 109/1 after 6.3 overs (J Singh 65*; D Mohammad 1/11)
The day ended with an easy win for Ghubrah Giants over Darsait Titans. The Giants opted to bat first and Dean Foxcroft yet again showed his class. He scored 49 runs off just 19 balls with four sixes and as many fours. Mohsin Qureshi provided finishing touches in the death overs to propel the team to 113/5 in their 10 overs. The target proved a little too much for the Titans who could only reach 90 runs in their 10 overs as none of their batters could threaten the opposition.
Brief Scores
Ghubrah Giants – 113/5 after 10 overs (D Foxcroft 49; A Sirah 1/8)
Darsait Titans – 90/7 after 10 overs (U Ullah 30; D Foxcroft 3/16)
