Mohammad Wasim Jr has emerged as a bright prospect for the Pakistan cricket team, especially in the bowling department. The speedster came to the fore after performing to expectations in the 2021 Pakistan Super League where he plied his trade for Shadab Khan’s Islamabad United. The fast bowler made his debut against the West Indies in July 2021 at Bridgetown in Barbados.
The right-arm pacer recently played the three-match T20I series against the Caribbean unit at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and didn’t flatter to deceive. In fact, he ended as the leading wicket-taker with eight scalps from three games. In the third and final T20I of the series on Thursday, December 16, Wasim accounted for two scalps, although he went for 11 runs per over.

He bowled the last over of the powerplay where Brandon King tried to take him on. Wasim bowled a short-pitched delivery and King smoked the leather over the leg-side boundary. King cleared his front leg and sent the ball out of his sight. However, Wasim came back in style in the very next ball.
The speedster churned out a good length ball and King tried to eke out a cut shot. But the bowler beat the batter all ends up and rattled his woodwork. Wasim was ecstatic as King threatened to take the game away from Pakistan. King scored 43 off 21 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes.

As far as the match was concerned, it turned out to be a humdinger, but Pakistan won the game by seven wickets. After batting first, the visitors racked up a mammoth score of 207 for the loss of three wickets. Nicholas Pooran top-scored for them with a 37-ball 64, laced with two fours and six sixes.
Later, Mohammad Rizwan smashed 87 off 45 with 10 fours and three sixes. He also got the apt support from Babar Azam, who made 79 runs off 53 balls with nine fours and two sixes. On the back of their knocks, the home team tracked the target down in 18.5 overs with seven balls to spare.
