Pakistan and England to play full series in the UAE:
Struggling to get required finances the Pakistan Cricket Board has planned a full series against England starting 13 October. The series will have 3 tests, 4 ODIs and 3 T20Is. The schedule is exactly the same as last time when England came here. Treated as a “home” series for the men in green when playing in the UAE, the board hopes to generate the much-needed revenues and attain financial stability after the tour. The matches will be played in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai.
The tour is part of an agreement between the PCB and ECB under which Pakistan will host England for two back to back series while from 2016 onwards the ECB will host Pakistan for two back-to-back series.
The English side had a mixed run the last time they came here. They lost the test series 3-0, and were found wanting against Saeed Ajmal and Abdul Rehman. They were bitterly exposed and did no justice to their numero uno status in that series. But they came back strongly to win the one dayers 4-0. A certain individual Kevin Pietersen had a crucial role to play in that and England would miss the services of the majestic player on the turning tracks of UAE.
Though Pakistan hosted Zimbabwe for a ODI series earlier this year, there is still some time before the country is again viewed as a place safe enough to host the more competitive, sensitive and cautious teams.
