Naseem Shah, the 16-year-old young pace sensation of Pakistan hogged the spotlight with his lethal pace and fiery spell against Australia A and Cricket Australia XI. He registered bowling figures of 1/21 in the warm-up game, however, it doesn’t define the calibre of the speedster.

But, he could bolster the chances of Men in Green winning Test series against Aussies. He received praises for his brilliant bowling during the practice match from the former greats. And, now Shoaib Akhtar has also echoed in the same voice hailing the young talent of his country.

The young prodigy was simply unplayable in the practice game and disturbed the Aussie international Marcus Harris throughout his spell and ended up getting his wicket on an extraordinary delivery. It was an unlike scene at Perth where the 16-year-old was deceiving the Australian batsman with his pace.

Shoaib Akhtar is happy to watch a bowler like Naseem Shah playing for Pakistan

Shoaib Akhtar, the former pacemen of Pakistan feels that Naseem is a solid bowler. He knows how to bowl and where to pitch his deliveries against the batters. It is surprising to watch that at such a young age he has attained maturity in his bowling.

“As a bowler, I can say that Pakistan has found a solid [Tagda] fast bowler. What I really like about Naseem Shah is that he understands how to bowl. To know how to bowl at this young age is amazing and it is inbuilt in some – this is same as Mohammad Amir when he came on to the scene in 2009,” the former Pakistan pacer said on his YouTube Channel.

He also added that there is still a long way for him to go. It will be interesting to watch his reaction in the pressure conditions of the match.  Naseem has already shown a lot of courage as he didn’t head back to his country after the demise of his mother. So, he wished him luck ahead of an important Test series against Australia starting on the 21st of November.

“We have to wait and then see how he responds when he is put under pressure, but I really wish him the best of luck. He has already shown a lot of courage by staying back despite the demise of his mother,” he added.
