Pakistan to host the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup and tournament to be played in ODI format: Ramiz Raja
PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja also said that the decision to host the tournament in Pakistan was taken unanimously.

It has been decided in the Asian Cricket Council that the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup will be played in Pakistan. The same was confirmed by the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ramiz Raja.
The 2023 edition of the Asia Cup will be played in the 50-over format. The Asia Cup will also be held in the year 2022 in Sri Lanka, and the 2022 edition of the tournament will be held in the T20 format of the game.
Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the Head of the Asian Cricket Council. Also, according to Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ramiz Raja, the decision to host the tournament in Pakistan was taken unanimously.
2018 edition of the Asia Cup was won by India
The last time that the Asia Cup was played was in the year 2018. And, it was the Indian cricket team that emerged triumphant in the tournament, beating the Bangladesh side with 3 wickets to spare in the final.
Batting first, the Bangladesh side was bowled out for 222. In reply, the Indian side went past the target off the final delivery of the match. Rohit Sharma played a key role in India’s victory in the 2018 summit clash, scoring an attractive 48 off 55 deliveries.
The first edition of the Asia Cup was held in the year 1984. And, it was the Indian side that won the inaugural edition of the Asia Cup. A total of 3 teams (India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) participated in the first edition of the Asia Cup that was held almost 4 decades ago.
There have been 13 editions of the Asia Cup that have been held so far. And, the Indian cricket team has won the tournament the most number of times (6 times). While the Sri Lankan side has won the tournament on 5 occasions, Pakistan has emerged as the champions of the tournament 2 times.
