England whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 after they finished victorious in the most gripping game T20 game of the year. The match went into the super over after the scores were tied at the end of the 20 overs. Chris Jordon bowled an amazing super over to ensure that Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler do not have to worry about anything when they got out to chase the target. Talking about the series, England tested their bench strength to great effect keeping the World T20, 2016 in mind and were successful to an extent.

Few promising names disappointed, but most of them played to their abilities and knocked out Pakistan in the series. The magnificent series win will surely boost the confidence of the team and also help their preparations before the T20 mega event in 2016. Here are the England player ratings for their show in the T20I series.

Jason Roy- 4/10:

Jason Roy could manage only 38 runs in this series. His highest score being the 29 runs knock which came in the 2nd game of the series. There were a lot of expectations from him after a stellar show in the ODI series. However, he performed in a completely contrasting manner in the T20Is.

James Vince- 8.5/10:

James Vince made his T20I debut in this series and impressed everyone with his splendid performances. He came out to bat at the crucial number three position the first two games and batted as an opener in the last game. Vince topped the batting table with 125 runs to his name at an average of 41.66. He has truly been a revelation for England in this series and will be in the scheme of things for the upcoming World T20.

Alex Hales- 3.5/10:

Just like Jason Roy, Alex Hales also had a great ODI series and it was anticipated that he would carry forward his batting form into the T20I series. However, he also could not impress as he scored only 19 runs in the 2 opportunities he got to play in this series. The competition in the England batting order looks very tough and it seems that Hales has completely forgotten that fact.

Moeen Ali- 4/10:

Moeen Ali was perhaps the biggest disappointment for England this series. Ali could not even score a single run in the two matches he played in the series. Ali was out on a duck in the 1st match and was out for a golden duck in the 3rd match. Though he did better with the ball getting 2 wickets, but was an ordinary effort against expectation.

Eoin Morgan- 8/10:

Skipper Eoin Morgan played two matches in this series and scored 60 runs overall which includes a 45-run unbeaten knock in the first match. The unorthodox batsman is a vital cog in the English batting line-up. He proved to an extent that there are no problems with his batting form and can be relied upon like in the past.

Sam Billings- 7.5/10:

Sam Billing also proved that the selectors made a right decision by selecting for the T20I series. Billings played a vital knock of 53 in the first match but failed in the first two matches. However, he showed that he has the clean hitting ability to bat as a specialist wicketkeeper-batsman in the team. Overall, Billings made 71 runs in the 3 matches.

Joe Root- 6/10:

Joe Root played only two matches this series and accumulated 52 runs. Knocks of 20 and 32 are not justifiable when batting at number three and number four in the batting order. But the fact that England won the series 3-0 will definitely not draw much scrutiny over his batting form.

Jos Buttler- 5/10:

Jos Buttler was rested for the first game and then brought back for the last two matches of the series. Buttler would be dissatisfied with his performance in this series as he could only score 35 runs in two matches. His only impressive performance came in his second match of the series where he scored 33 runs off 22 balls.

Adil Rashid- 5/10:

Adil Rashid was very good with the ball. Although, he didn’t pick too many wickets but was very economical. Overall, he ended the series with 3 wickets in 3 matches at an economy rate of 5.87. Rashid didn’t get any considerable opportunities with the bat.

Chris Jordan- 6/10:

Chris Jordon bowled one of the best super over in the history T20 international in the last game. Jordon remained wicketless throughout the series, but it was the fantastic super over to Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal in which he conceded only 3 runs that become his most memorable performance in this series.

Liam Plunkett- 8.5/10:

Plunkett could only play two matches this series, but was England’s most successful bowler by a larger margin. Plunkett took six wickets in the first two matches with the figures of 3/21 being his best bowling performance. His economy rate was also around 6 runs per over.

Stephen Parry- 5/10:

Stephen Parry could only take 3 wickets in the two matches he played. He was decent with the ball but could have done little better. His best bowling performance in the series came in the first match where he finished the game with the figures of 2/33. Also, The left-arm spinner could have been little more economical.

Reece Topley- 8/10:

Reece Topley was fielded by England in only one match. But, he made most of the chance and impressed everyone with the spell of 3/24. He was left out since England was rotating its bowlers. However, it would be exciting to watch him in the future if he manages to find a place in the England playing XI.

Chris Woakes- 7.5/10:

Chris Woakes defended 11 runs off the last overs in the thrilling second T20I. Again in the final match, he managed to defend 10 runs in the last over and took the game to the super over. He would have been impactful had if he had taken more wickets in the series. If his fantastic final overs are excluded, then the series for him has been very average with only 3 wickets in two matches.

David Willey- 7/10:

David Willey could not make the best of the opportunities he got in the series. He played in the 2nd and the 3rd T20Is. He failed to create any magic in the 2nd T20 but was at his best in the 3rd game as he managed to claim 3/36 in the game. Willey should have been more economical as his economy rate in the series hovered around 10 runs.
