Pakistan v Sri Lanka, T20I series 2017 – Statistical Preview

After a two-match Test series and a five-match ODI series won by Sri Lanka and Pakistan respectively without losing a game, both sides will now face in the 3-match T20I series in which the last match will be played in Lahore. Sri Lanka will be playing under Thisara Perera in this series, the 7th captain for them this year.

Here we look at all the key stats and numbers ahead of the series

4 – Number of consecutive bilateral series Pakistan have won in T20I cricket. No team have won more than four consecutive bilateral T20I series so far.

5 – Sri Lanka won five T20Is in 2017 including the series in South Africa and Australia. They have played nine T20Is so far this year losing four of them. They managed to win four ODIs and four Test matches in 2017 so far. Pakistan on other hand won five out of seven T20Is they played.

7 – Thisara Perera will be Sri Lanka’s 7th captain in International cricket. The Lankan side will become the first team to have six captains across formats in a calendar year. Zimbabwe in 2001 and England in 2011 had six captains each.

10 – Number of wins in T20I cricket for Pakistan against Sri Lanka. These are the most number of wins for them against any opponent in this format. Sri Lanka haven’t lost more T20Is against any other side. Sri Lanka managed to win five T20Is against Pakistan.

28 – Number of T20I matches played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium; the host for the first two games of the series. Batting first team won 12 T20Is which chasing side won in 16 matches. Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host the final T20I of the series which had been a host to five T20Is previously out of which chasing team won three.

194 – Number of wickets for Thisara Perera in Twenty20 cricket. He needs six more wickets to become the 2nd Sri Lankan after Lasith Malinga (323) to pick up 200 wickets in Twenty20 format.

992 – Danushka Gunathilaka has scored 992 runs in his Twenty20 career so far. He needs eight more runs to complete 1000 T20 runs.
