This game is a dead rubber in the context of the tri-series but it will no less than the final which will be played later this week. Both, Australia and Pakistan, would be eager to get the upper hand over each other before the title clash. The Aussies, moreover have a game to play against Zimbabwe which again is of no context but they will be taking one game at a time and are in no mood to spare the opposition.

Aaron Finch has led from the front with some sizzling form in this series so far and huge victories in the first couple of matches meant that they have time to shuffle their batting order. Though there is a doubt they will do it against Pakistan given the quality of the opposition. The middle-order is yet to bat for them and what better than giving them a go against the Men in Green before facing them in the final.

Pakistan, on the other hand, put on a professional performance against Zimbabwe. Despite the fact that the game went until the last over, it never felt that the Sarfraz Ahmed and his men had lost their grip over the proceedings. But what will worry their skipper is the way they had gone down to the Aussies in their last face-off. This game will be a trial for the final and a clinical show will satisfy the team management.

Pitch and Conditions

The tri-series is going deep and expect the pitch to start helping the spinners. The weather is set to be clear for this game and the 22 yards should be full of runs with the T20 superstars clashing. There will be an extra bounce which the batsmen will have to counter and the ball will grip a little bit in the second innings but not alarmingly.

Team Combination

Pakistan

Pakistan made a couple of changes for Zimbabwe game and there is no need now to tinker with the winning combination again. Haris Sohail deserves another go at the top as his partner Fakhar Zaman is in amazing form with the bat. The captain batting at 4 lends solidity to the line-up as well with Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali giving the final touches perfectly.

The likes of Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan have been performing well ever since the team has been on the road and the bowling attack comprising of Mohammad Amir and Hasan Ali is menacing as well.

Probable XI: Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail, Hussain Talat, Sarfraz Ahmed (c & wk), Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Nawaz

Australia

Australia is also unlikely to make any changes to their line-up for this match at least. They still have one more game against the hosts in which they can test their bench strength. Finch has already cleared that there will be no experiments in the batting order which might see the middle-order waiting for their chance if the openers continue to dominate the proceedings.

Probable XI: Aaron Finch (c), D’Arcy Short, Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Nic Maddinson, Alex Carey, Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye, Jhye Richardson, Billy Stanlake

Probable Top Performers:

Fakhar Zaman (Pakistan) | Glenn Maxwell (Australia)
