Match Details:

The 2nd ODI of the three-match series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be hosted by the National Stadium in Karachi.

The match starts at 3:00 PM local time (3: 30 IST) (10:00 AM GMT). This game will be live on Sony Six HD and Sony Six. Live Streaming will be available on Sony LIV.

Preview:

There was a lot of excitement among the players and the fans ahead of the series opener. But the unseasonal rains led to the match being abandoned even without the toss. The second ODI also had to be rescheduled with the groundsmen needing more time to get the ground ready. But will the clouds stay away on Monday? The crowd will be desperate for some action at the National Stadium after a 10-year long wait.

No wonder Pakistan are the favourites to start with as they are playing the depleted Sri Lankan side. But some of the players in the visiting side will be keen on making an impression in order to seal their place in the side. Sarfaraz Ahmed and his men, by no means, can take things for granted and should put up a comprehensive show to take an unassailable lead.

Weather Condition/Report:

Surprise! The clouds will be clear throughout the day on Monday in Karachi. There is also no rain in the forecast on Sunday which should be a huge relief for the groundsmen who will get more time to get the stadium ready for the action. The temperature will hover around 29-32 Degrees Celsius during the match according to AccuWeather.

Pitch Condition:

The 22 yards at the National Stadium has taken a lot of rains over the last few days and though it was under the covers, the surface will be a little bit damp. But with the sun expected to come out on Sunday and Monday, the pitch should recover and is expected to be a good one for batting. The team winning the toss is expected to bat first but they will have to think twice.

Average first innings score: 246 (in 46 ODIs at the venue)

Top Picks

Babar Azam continues to be a top pick for Pakistan as he is their best batsman and has got the added responsibility now as well. Apart from him Haris Sohail and Imam-ul-Haq are decent batsmen who are known to make it big after getting settled. If Pakistan bowls in the second innings, Mohammad Amir could be threatening under the lights.

For Sri Lanka, Avishka Fernando will hold the key along with Lahiru Thirimanne. Dasun Shanaka has the ability to punch above his weight with both bat and ball.

Expert Advice:

It would be better to ignore Sarfaraz as he might not get to bat much. Samarawickrama is a top-order player and will definitely get a chance to showcase his skills.

Better pick your bowlers after the toss as there is uncertainty around who will play, especially in Sri Lanka’s case.

Probable Winners:

Pakistan is expected to start the series on a winning note.
