Pakistani cricketer Mohd Amir refutes all claims of being detained at London airport

Pakistan Test cricketer Mohammad Amir refuted all claims of being briefly detained by immigration authorities at London’s Heathrow Airport on Thursday. As per reports, Aamir was allowed to leave after 30 minutes of interrogation by the concerned officials. The cricketer arrived at London Airport with his wife from Dubai. Aamir refuted the media reports by calling it, ‘All false’ in his latest tweet.

“Hey guys all this news about me being stop or sumthing in london is ALL FALSE im happily home take care n stay happy,” Amir tweeted.

He later again tweeted saying, “Allhamdulilah finally home in london the weather is beautifull n so are people here…”.

Five people were killed and 40 injured in Wednesday’s terror attack outside the Parliament in central London, after which security at the airport was tightened.

The left-arm quick was banned in 2010 along with Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif for the infamous spot-fixing scandal. In the August of 2015, he was declared free to play all forms of cricket from September 2015. In January 2016, he made his return to international cricket in a Twenty20 match against New Zealand. He took a hat-trick for Karachi Kings in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League, along with other economical bowling spells.

He has also been chosen for the team against West Indies. The full series, that includes three Test matches, starts with a T20 international at Bridgetown on March 26.

Amir made his domestic debut in 2007, and his first international debut in 2009 in against Sri Lanka when he was just 17 years of age. He played all the games of the 2009 T20 World cup, in which his contribution was essential to Pakistan winning the tournament. He also enjoys a distinction of playing the most number of Test matches before claiming his first catch.
