Former English cricketer Paul Collingwood is all set to be a part of the World XI team that will tour Pakistan this September for a T20 series. The series is expected to serve as the gateway for international cricket making a comeback to the Pakistani soil. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) are seeing it as a very big opportunity to get things back on track for the Pakistani fans, who have been deserted of quality international games since the year 2009.

As the dates for the World XI tour is approaching, the names of the players participating in the series are coming to the fore. The name of former English skipper Paul Collingwood was the first to come out in the media. Now, there are talks of Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis also being in contention to be picked in the World XI side.

Collingwood has retired from international cricket quite some time ago. However, he continues to play County cricket at the age of 41. Recently, when the official website of Cricket Australia shared a link about the World XI players on the social media, a user mocked the inclusion of Collingwood.

The website had titled their post saying that big names have been included in the World XI side. The user looked unimpressed with the title and commented on the post questioning how Collingwood can be called as a big name. “How the f*$# is Paul Collingwood a big name?” a fan tweeted.

Collingwood’s reply

While the response from the fan could have disappointed any cricketer, Collingwood took the blow in a humorous way. He trolled back the user using a perfect pun. He remarked that he is a big name considering the fact that his surname has 11 alphabets.

“Eleven letters in my surname…” replied a very witty Paul Collingwood.
