Peshawar Zalmi all set to host Global Zalmi League in 2018

The Peshawar Zalmi franchise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is all set to host a Global Zalmi League competition next year. The owner of the Zalmi franchise, Javed Afridi, and the other key members of the franchise have often stressed on their agenda of globalizing their plans. This was seen when Chinese players were inducted in the Zalmi brand. This Global Zalmi League is all set to be a part of the very same initiative. The news was recently confirmed by the official social media handle of the Peshawar Zalmi.

16 Zalmi teams from 16 countries are all set to lock horns to become the ultimate Zalmi champions. Also, the Global Zalmi team was announced which sees players from all across the world. This team comprises of the players who had featured in the Zalmi World Cup last year. Abraash Khan of the Canada Zalmi team has been named as the captain of the Global Zalmi team.

The details of the tournament will be announced soon. Meanwhile, as per the reports in Geo.tv, the brand manager of the Global Zalmi has expressed his satisfaction over the team combinations.

“It’s a very balanced team with an excellent combination of young attacking batsmen and genuine quick fast bowlers, supported by leg spin option.. a bunch of super fit athletes from across the globe,” quoted Brand Manager of Global Zalmi Iftikhar Ud Din Khattak.
