America’s popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory took a dig at the Indian cricket team and specifically at Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The show is based on the lives of four scientists, one of them being an Indian named Rajesh Koothrappali. In a recent episode of the show, which is now at its 11th season, Rajesh can be seen taking his friend Howard Wolowitz to the screening of a cricket match featuring the Indian team.

It looked like Wolowitz is hardly aware of the game and surprisingly Rajesh too doesn’t have much idea. Rajesh takes a dig at the cricketers but his dialogue seemed very confusing as it hardly made any sense to the viewers. The fans were not much impressed and they took to Twitter and expressed their views.

Here is how the conversation panned out –

Koothrappali – That’s Ravichandran Ashwin, he is amazing. He makes Hardik Pandya look like Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Wolowitz – Wooah, wooah, wooah! Save syllables for the rest of us (laughter in background).

It was a jibe taken at the number of syllables an Indian name contains. Many felt that the scene could have been put in a better manner, as many of the Indians watch the series. None of the cricketers have reacted to it and the writer of the episode, too, didn’t say much.

One of the fans twitted “Seriously @kunalnayyar you let them write “@ashwinravi99Ravichandran Ashwin makes @hardikpandya7 look like @BhuviOfficial Bhuvneshwar Kumar”? Did you even watch the India New Zealand series?” Going by the tweet, one can understand that the viewer wasn’t happy with the ‘not so funny’ scene and he asks the member of the show if he even watched the recently concluded series featuring India and New Zealand.

Let’s check out how Twitterati reacted to it:
