PSL 2018: Commentary Panel for the season announced

The PSL will commence on the 22nd February and the finals will be played on the 25th of March.

The third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is only a month away and the Pakistani and other cricket fans are very excited for this league to commence. Also, for the first ever time since its’ inception in 2015, the league is set to undergo an expansion. Six teams will feature in the PSL this time, the highest ever.

Only five teams took part in the league in the first two seasons. The Multan Sultans are the new addition to the league, a franchise based in Multan. They will be lead by Shoaib Malik. The format of the event will be double round-robin followed by the playoffs. There are 34 matches to be held this year.

The PSL 2018 will commence on the 22nd February and the finals will be played on the 25th of March. The schedule for the league is released and a majority of it will be held in the UAE. Both the ‘Eliminators’ are scheduled to be played in Lahore and the Grand Finale will be played in Karachi.

A star-studded commentary team announced

A star-studded commentators’ line-up, bigger and better than before, will grace the third edition of the Pakistan Super League. The PSL household names Ramiz Raja, Danny Morrison, Alan Wilkins and Bazid Khan would be joined by Micheal Slater and Damien Fleming. Also, former West Indies Test opener Darren Ganga will also be debuting in the PSL commentary box this season.

Out of all the names in the commentary panel, only Ramiz Raja and Bazid Khan hail from Pakistan. Moreover, the mad Morrison, Danny will be adding the Kiwi flavour to the league. Former English player, Alan Wilkins is the only Brit on the panel. Micheal Slater and Damien Fleming were the stars of Australia’s champion Test and ODI teams of the late 1990s. Since retirement, the duo has travelled around the world lending their voice to leading cricket tournaments including ICC events.
