PSL 2021: Hazratullah Zazai welcomes Mohammad Amir with a first ball six

The Eliminator 1 lof the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) saw Peshawar Zalmi taking on Karachi Kings at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Zalmi’s opening batsman Hazratullah Zazai stole all the thunder during the game. Zazai was the wrecker-in-chief for his team as he played a sublime knock of 77 runs off 38 deliveries. 

He started his run in the second innings with a bang. The 23-year-old started firing from the very first ball. One of the highlights of the match was the a stunning six off Mohammed Amir. Amir came to bowl the second over and received a warm welcome as his delivery has sent to the stands by the batsman. 

Bowling his first delivery of the night in the second over, Amir decided to bowl a length delivery around off. However, the opening batter read the ball well and swiped it over a deep square leg for an exquisite six. 

Hazratullah Zazai takes Peshawar Zalmi home

The highly-anticipated clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings commenced with the Zalmi skipper Wahab Riaz winning the toss and inviting the defending champions to put a total on the board. Batting first, Karachi posted a total of 175 runs on the scoreboard. 

Babar Azam was the highest run-getter for his team as he played a knock of 53 runs off 45 balls. Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera was also decent with the willow as he added 37 runs to the scoreboard in just 18 deliveries. In the end, Kings managed to post a decent total of 175 runs on the scoreboard. 

For Zalmi, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Irfan, and Umaid Asif picked two wickets each while Mohammad Imran also had one under his belt. 

Chasing 176, Peshawar Zalmi dominated the game as their opening batsman Zazai caused carnage on the field. Owing to his stunning knock of 77 runs, Zalmi managed to complete the target and secured victory by five wickets. Perera was the most successful bowler for Kings as he took two wickets while bowling at an economy rate of 5. However, his efforts went in vain as Karachi Kings are now ruled out of the competition.
