PSL 2022: Full capacity crowd to be allowed in stadiums from 16th February 2022

The Director of the PSL, Salman Nasser said that this step will encourage people to attend the matches in large numbers.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches that will take place in Lahore will witness a crowd capacity of 50% from now on. Earlier the maximum capacity allowed was 25%, but the government has eased the restrictions and half the stadium has been allowed to be filled till 15th February 2022.

And, after 15th February, the stadiums will witness a full capacity for all PSL matches. The same was confirmed by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). The NCOC confirmed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be allowed to conduct the PSL matches with hundred percent capacity from 16th February 2022. The NCOC also added that children below the age of 12 will also be allowed inside the stadium.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board has been allowed to conduct Pakistan Super League (PSL) Lahore matches with 50 percent stadium capacity for fully vaccinated spectators till February 15, 2022. “However, from February 16 onwards 100 percent stadium capacity for fully vaccinated spectators will be allowed. Children under 12 years of age (un-vaccinated) will also be allowed,” read the statement released by the NCOC.

The Director of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Salman Nasser lauded the NCOC for accepting the request of PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja to allow children below the age of 12 to attend the PSL matches. Nasser also added that this step will encourage people to attend the matches in large numbers.

“We hail the decision of the NCOC which has accepted the request of PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja by allowing under-12s to attend the remaining 19 HBL PSL 2022 matches in Lahore from 10-27 February. This will encourage families to attend the high-quality and exciting matches in big numbers,” said Salman Nasser.

Nasser also added that children under the age of 12 are critical for the future of Pakistan cricket, and concluded by stating that this will help the PCB to nurture youngsters and develop them into future stars of the game.

“Under-12s are critical to our future plans as we have put together a robust and comprehensive Pathways Programme so that we can identify and nurture talented youngsters into international stars. This NCOC decision will go a long way in helping us in our endeavours,” concluded Nasser.
