With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 being underway, Team India head coach Rahul Dravid is enjoying his time off the field. He was recently spotted at a book event in Bengaluru, wherein his simplicity and down-to-earth nature became the talk of the town. According to a Twitter user named Kashy, Dravid attended the event at a book store where another former Indian cricketer Gundappa Viswanath was present to talk about his new book titled ‘Wrist Assured’.

Others attending the event couldn’t even realize Dravid’s presence as the former Indian skipper had his mask on and he quietly went to the back row and took a seat. As per Kashy, even the girl sitting right next to Dravid couldn’t even recognize him.

Rahul Dravid didn’t even make his presence felt at the event

“He walked in alone with a mask on, greeted Ram Guha, which is when me and Sameer realized it was indeed Rahul Dravid, he happily sat in the last row without any fuss so much so that the girl sitting next to him didn’t even realised who she was sitting with,” read a part of the Twitter thread, shared by Kashy.

People got to know about his presence only when he was greeted by Viswanath. Dravid later signed autographs as well. “He said sorry when he couldn’t get his autograph right because people wouldn’t let him stand properly!” Kashy added.

Kashy, who also got to take a selfie with Dravid, also stated the legendary cricketer made sure that Viswanath remains the centre of attention. “He finally told people to talk to GRV instead of talking to him because it was an event to celebrate GRV! How can a person who has lead Indian cricket team to so many glories be so humble and down to earth!” read the thread further.

The post went viral in no time as Dravid’s act yet again won hearts on the internet. Netizens were highly impressed to see the Indian head coach not being fussed about his popularity and achievement.
