Rashid Khan re-signs with Sussex for T20 Blast 2022

Rashid Khan has already featured for the Sussex side in 2018, 2019, and 2021.

Afghanistan spin bowling superstar Rashid Khan will render his services for the Sussex side in the 2022 season of the T20 Blast. Khan has already featured for the Sussex side in 2018, 2019, and 2021.

The 2022 edition of the T20 Blast will commence on 25th May 2022, with the summit clash slated to be held on 16th July 2022. The 23-year-old Khan will miss the initial few matches of the T20 Blast as he will be offering his services in the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

And, the Head Coach of the Sussex side, James Kirtley is elated to have Rashid Khan back in the side. Kirtley said that the Afghanistan cricketer had a positive effect in the team last season, and also labelled Khan as an outstanding person. Kirtley also added that Rashid mentored Archie Lenham last season as well.

“Rash is an outstanding person and his positive effect on our environment was so obvious last summer. The immediate care and mentoring he showed Archie showed the real class of the person,” said Kirtley as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

James Kirtley further said that the Sussex side is lucky to have the services of Rashid Khan. Adding that the Sussex side has managed to develop a wonderful relationship with the best T20 spin bowler in the world right now, Kirtley concluded by stating that Rashid also adds value to the side with his dynamic batting skills as well.

“He’s the best in the business and we are truly lucky to have him. It is great to know we have developed a long-standing relationship with the best T20 spinner in the world – not to forget his dynamic batting which we witnessed against Yorkshire in last year’s quarter-final,” concluded James Kirtley.
