Ravi Ashwin argues with fan over Thisara Perera wicket on twitter

Ravi Ashwin graced one and all with his presence on twitter following India’s impressive win over Sri Lanka. As he has done on several occasions previously, Ravi Ashwin once again embarrassed a fan on twitter. This time, however, it was over the dismissal of Thisara Perera.

The incident occurred during the Sri Lankan batting innings. A revival had begun with Thisara Perera launching a few big ones into the stand. However, the innings was cut off when Perera was removed by Ashwin with MS Dhoni whipping off the bails in a flash. The on-field umpire Shozab Raza trusted his naked eye and adjudged Perera out without the consultation of the third umpire.

After watching replays, most Sri Lankan fans took to twitter to pour out their angst against Ashwin and Raza. One fan in particular, went on to accuse the ICC of being favourable to Indians by adjudging Perera out.

The fan tweeted:” @ashwinravi99 its been given out, where is @ICC now? Still in Dubai? Or at Mirpur??

Ravi Ashwin replied with the same humor that he replies to all of his fans. @nibrazramzan naughty boy, ICC will always remain in Dubai unless you fund them an office in Mirpur. Good try any ways.

The fan went on to attack Ashwin saying that he should have called back Perera following the incident. Ashwin replied stating that he had tunnel vision (the ability to focus on something) and not a 3D vision to call the batsman back.
