Ace Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is not only known for his heroics on the field, but also for his witty remarks off the field. Even the Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli has admitted that the words of Ashwin are precise and can hit it direct at the target. Hence, it comes as no surprise that the Indian off-spinner is a big hit among the fans on the social media. He is renowned for taking digs at the trollers and also for his witty replies to the ones who target them. Ravi Ashwin was at this yet again.

His domestic side, Tamil Nadu, are currently fighting it out against Mumbai in the semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy 2016-17. Tamil Nadu gave away a crucial first innings lead to Mumbai. It is clear that the side now needs to come up with a massive overhaul to beat the defending champions. One of the fans, perhaps an ardent Tamil Nadu supporter, took to micro blogging site Twitter to question Ashwin’s unavailability for the match.

R Ashwin opted to rest after the conclusion of the England series as he was suffering from sports hernia. The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) was keen on fielding R Ashwin in the quarter finals and the matches thereafter. However, Ashwin was advised rest and was subsequently ruled out of the domestic fixtures. It all started when Ashwin tweeted about the Ranji Trophy semi finals.

A fan looked visibly unhappy as he lamented the absence of Ashwin in the Tamil Nadu side. He wrote that it would have been better if Ashwin supported the team by playing for it. He tweeted, “@ashwinravi99 wish U supported TN in the Ranji semis by playing. A Golden opportunity to win after decades. Lament skilled INTL players skip.”

Ashwin was quick to reply back in a witty and sensible fashion. He rightly wrote back that he is not a machine and thus needs rest. He asked the fan to be compassionate and understand that even he is a human being. He wrote, “@BalaVenkat79 sir this is a human body that I live inside, not a machine.Kindly be compassionate.”
