The Indian side came back in stunning fashion to pummel England by a margin of 317 runs in the second Test to level the four-match Test series 1-1. The hosts outperformed the visitors in every department of the game at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.
And, the catalyst of the triumph was the local boy Ravi Ashwin. The Tamil Nadu spinner took eight wickets in the match, and also scored a century in India’s second innings to steer his side to victory.
Now, apart from his performances, Ashwin gave another reason for the fans to cheer as well. When the famous song ‘Vaathi Coming’ from ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay-starrer Master was played at the MA Chidambaram stadium, Ashwin was seen shaking a leg and dancing. As soon as Ashwin got his dance shoes on, the entire stadium erupted in unison.

India-England Test series intriguingly poised
As far as the cricketing action is concerned, the four-match Test series between India and England is intriguingly poised at the moment. Both the teams have won a game each, and there is everything to play for in the final two Tests in Ahmedabad. The third Test will be a Day-Night affair and will be played with the pink ball.
The series also assumes more importance when the World Test Championship (WTC) is also brought into the picture. Currently, New Zealand have already qualified for the summit clash of the WTC, which will be played at the Lord’s in the month of June.
If India want to qualify for the summit clash, they will have to win at least another Test match out of the two games that are remaining, and also have to ensure that England do not even win a single game from here. In other words, a Test series victory of 2-1 or 3-1 will ensure that India book their ticket to the Lord’s to take on the kiwis.
For England to qualify, they will have to compulsorily win the remaining two matches, and win the series 3-1. If the series ends in a draw (1-1 or 2-2), or if England win the series 2-1, then Australia will qualify for the WTC final.
All in all, the final two Test matches between India and England hold all the answers to a lot of questions.
