Ravichandran Ashwin becomes the fastest Indian to 150 Test wickets

Ravichandran Ashwin completed 150 wickets in Test Cricket in the ongoing 1st Test match against South Africa at Mohali. Ashwin, who is playing in his 29th Test, become the joint-fourth fastest to mark and the fastest Indian.
Ashwin completed his milestone by picking up South Africa’s last man Imran Tahir. With that, he completed his 13th five wicket haul in Test Cricket and 100 wickets in Test Cricket on home soil.
Ashwin was also the fastest to 50 and 100 Test wicket for India. He became the fastest Indian to 150 wickets by going past Erapalli Prasanna and Anil Kumble, who did it in 34 Tests.
The 29-year old also went past Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan, who took 31 and 36 Tests respectively to reach 150 wickets.
The three players who have reached the 150-wicket mark before Ashwin are are former England seamer Sydney Barnes, Pakistan’s Waqar Younis and Australia’s Victor Grimmett.
Barnes took just 24 matches for the milestone, while Waqar Younis and Grimmett took 27 and 28 Tests respectively.
