Team India spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin had a breakout year in cricket in 2016. He ended the calendar year as the leading wicket taker and the top-ranked Test bowler. To cap off the brilliant season, he ended up bagging two of the top accolades at the ICC awards. Ravichandran Ashwin was named as the ICC Test Cricket of the Year and also the Cricketer of the Year. No wonder why he drew praise from all corners after his achievement.

Legendary India spinner Erapalli Prasanna was not far from praising Ashwin. However, the former cricketer had a few suggestions for Ashwin that he believes will help him turn sharper. Prasanna had tipped Ashwin as the best strike bowler at the moment and the best spinner in the world. Adding further, he had quoted that if Ravichandran Ashwin now manages to flight the ball more, he can become an even more threatening prospect for the opposition.

He had quoted, “There is no doubt that Ashwin is the best striker bowler we have. He is the best spinner in the world now. Unless and until he makes the batsmen step out and drive it will be a little difficult for him. In the back of his mind he has got a leg break which he thinks is very effective. But watching him, the batsmen will easily know that he is going to bowl that delivery. From his action you can easily find out that he is going to bowl that one.”

In a recent turn of events, it was R Ashwin who came across these suggestions from the legendary bowler on the social media. Ashwin took very little time in responding back to the suggestions. But the startling fact remains to be in his reply. While people would have expected Ashwin to tweet back a phrase or two, what perspired was totally different. Ashwin gave a crisp reply and chose to reply with just one word. He wrote, “Ok.”
