Team India ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been ruled out of the 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League. His IPL team, the Rising Pune Supergiant, had heavy hopes from him this season and his ouster has surely been a severe blow to the side. Despite being out of the action, Ashwin has managed to stay in the thick of off-field actions. Recently, the offspinner picked up his fantasy team and posted it on the social media.

The fantasy team that he picked was for the Gen Next Cricket Academy, a cricket academy mentored by Ravichandran Ashwin. Interestingly, Ashwin named his Rising Pune Supergiant skipper Steve Smith in his fantasy team too. Ashwin might not play under Smith’s leadership in the near future as he is not a part of the tournament this year and the future of RPS in next edition remains undecided.

Another Aussie who featured in his list was Glenn Maxwell. Among the other team mates from the RPS camp, Ashwin did not forget to mention the most expensive player this season – Ben Stokes. Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman was his fourth overseas player in the list. Among the Indian batsmen, he chose Manan Vohra, Mayank Agarwal, Wriddhiman Saha and Kedar Jadhav. Mumbai Indians allrounder Krunal Pandya also got a mention in his list.

Here is the fantasy team chosen by Ravichandran Ashwin

Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Mustafizur Rahman, Ben Stokes, Kedar Jadhav, Manan Vohra, Kuldeep Yadav, Amit Mishra, Mayank Agarwal, Wriddhiman Saha, Krunal Pandya.

Just before picking his team, he posted another tweet where he expressed that he had a good time picking his fantasy side. He wrote, “Had a great time playing the @gennextcricket fantasy auctions for this IPl. After some serious bidding managed to get a decent team I guess.”

The 10th edition of the IPL promises to be a bigger and better edition than the past editions. The tournament starts on April 5 with defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore.
