West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard and former Indian cricketer and TV commentator Sanjay Manjrekar were involved in an unhealthy banter which took place during Mumbai Indians’ crucial encounter against the Kolkata Knight Riders where MI prevailed in a nail-biting thriller. It was a sensational display of batsmanship by youngsters Nitish Rana and Hardik Pandya which handed Mumbai a nerve-wracking victory.

During the match, Manjrekar who was out there in the commentary box was asked whether he feels Pollard should bat up the order so that he gets maximum overs to demolish the bowling attack. The commentator, in turn, replied that he feels Pollard doesn’t have the brain to bat up the order and he is a type of a batsman who is better suited for the last 6 8 overs where he can go hammers and tongs and doesn’t think about the condition of the match.

Pollard responded both with the bat and by the mouth. In the encounter against Royal Challengers when MI was reduced to 7/4 it was the masterly innings from the big Caribbean lad which ensured MI chased the total down comfortably in the end. His 70 was instrumental in helping MI keep their winning streak intact.

It was not the end as Pollard took to his twitter handle and expressed his disappointment at the comments made by Manjrekar. @sanjaymanjrekar u feel any positive can come out of your mouth bcuz u get pay to talk u can continue with your verbal diarrhea ..(sic).” It wasn’t the only tweet as he further wrote, @sanjaymanjrekar u feel any positive can come out of your mouth bcuz u get pay to talk u can continue with your verbal diarrhea ..(sic).”

It was really an unfortunate incident but the matter seems to be settled between the two at the moment from the scenario which was captured by BCCI Project Manager Gaurav Saxena. The two were seen involved in a chat as Saxena sharing the picture wrote, Somewhere in central India – good sense prevailed – @KieronPollard55 @sanjaymanjrekar #IPL
