The friendship between Irfan Pathan and Robin Uthappa is very well-known. Both share a close bond despite not meeting regularly like they used to do when playing together for the national team. Both have been best buddies (close friends call them husband-wife it is said) from the time they played together for the first time in 2008.

The most recent example of the kind of camaraderie they share was visible on Twitter last night when Irfan Pathan and Robin Uthappa shared a lengthy conversation between them which left their fans amused.

Robin Uthappa, who is currently playing for the India Green side in the Duleep Trophy, took to Twitter to congratulate his Kolkata Knight Riders teammate Kuldeep Yadav and state-mate Shreyas Gopal on their brilliant performances.

But, there was an unexpected guest in that space – Irfan Pathan – who also congratulated the duo for their performances.

Uthappa quickly replied with ‘thank you!’ nicknaming Pathan as ‘Badshah.’ This prompted a great conversation and both the cricketers shared laughs.

India Green and India Red are currently playing against each other at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground, Delhi. The Pink ball Test looks completely in the pockets of the India Red side following Kuldeep Yadav’s superb spell of spin bowling in the last session of day three. The left arm chinaman claimed his maiden five-wicket haul to leave the opposition tattering.

Uthappa himself had a great day. After failing in the first innings, he struck an entertaining 72 during the chase. Unfortunately, his efforts were not of any use as India Green, who ended day three reeling at 7 down for 217, lost the game on the following day by a 219 run margin after failing to chase the massive 497 runs target to win.

India Red will meet India Blue in the next Duleep trophy encounter on 29th August 2016.
