Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Stuart Binny released from the Test side: Indian team management today released Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Stuart Binny from the Test team so that they can participate in the next Ranji Trophy match for their respective sides.
The three players had played in the ODI series, that India lost 2-3 to South Africa.
Rohit Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be up against each other when Mumbai face Uttar Pradesh from November 7. Binny will join Karnataka, who will take on Odisha in Mysore.
“The players will rejoin the Indian Test team before the start of the second Test of the Paytm Freedom Trophy in Bangalore. Punjab Ranji trophy players, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Mandeep Singh will assist the Indian Team as reserve players during the first Test Match at Mohali,” a BCCI release said.
The first Test match between India and South Africa is under way. India have won the toss and elected to bat. The hosts were in totters, having lost 7 wickets for 168 runs at Tea.
Murali Vijay is the top scorer so far for India with a gritty 75. While for South Africa, it was Dean Elgar who sparked magic with his guile, picking up 4 vital wickets.
