Team India’s go-to bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, has now begun his second innings in life as he got married to Nupur Nagar on Thursday in Meerut. He was wished by team-mate Rohit Sharma in a cheeky tweet where he says it’s quite a day for Indian fast bowlers as Zaheer Khan too got married to actress Sagarika Ghatge.

The news became official when the 27-year-old made a request to be released from the Indian squad of the ongoing Sri Lanka Test series and was made clear in a video posted by fellow team-mate Shikhar Dhawan where they talked about his wedding.

Rohit’s tweet:

The right-arm bowler’s plans about getting hitched were clear after he shared pictures of the engagement ceremony that took place in Greater Noida on October 24. In the caption of the picture, he wrote, “Rewinding and going back to the happy memories, inspires me to the fast forward and dream about the amazing future that lies ahead.”

Nupur Nagar is a childhood friend of his and he revealed that he was seeing her on October 3 by posting a picture that read, “Here’s the better half of the picture.” There were a lot of speculations about who the girl was when he had posted this picture with half of it cropped out earlier where he had assured that fans would get a full picture soon. He made the revelation 5 months later.

Bhuvneshwar’s wedding reception is expected to be held in Bulandshahar on November 27 and on November 30 in New Delhi, probably for Team India who will arrive in the national capital to play the 3rd Test. He picked up an 8-fer in the first Test at Kolkata and was awarded the man of the match for his performance. Since he will not be able to take further part in the Test series, Tamil Nadu all-rounder Vijay Shankar is named as his replacement.
