Rohit Sharma has been a star player in the Indian setup for a long time now. He has a wide popularity not only in India but across the globe too. That is pretty much evident in social media too. Even in Sri Lanka, Rohit enjoys a great fan following.

Mohammed Nilam is one such fan of Rohit hailing from the island of Sri Lanka. He has been an ardent follower of Mumbai Indians in the IPL as well. Recently, the official handle of the Mumbai Indians accounts posted a video on Twitter where Nilam speaks about his love for MI.

Travelling all over from Sri Lanka, Mohammed Nilam portrays his love for Rohit Sharma. He also tells about the different stadiums he has visited in India and describes Wankhede as his favourite. The video also goes through his craziness for Rohit and a slideshow of pictures with him.

How Rohit helped his fan from Sri Lanka

During Sri Lanka’s recent tour of India, Nilam had to rush back to Sri Lanka as his father was detected with throat cancer. Sudhir ensured Rohit got in touch with Nilam who paid for his flight tickets to ensure he was back home with his father.

Rohit had also promised a visit to Nilam’s home in Colombo. He went on to fulfil it during the Nidahas Trophy last month which India went on to win. The final match is famously known for Dinesh Karthik’s last ball six to win the Tri Series.

“I know him (Nilam) for many years now. He has cheered for me for so long now. I still remember he was crying a day after the Test in India, telling me how his father was not feeling well.” Rohit had earlier told.

Mumbai Indians’ patchiness in the IPL

Mumbai Indians haven’t begun well this year. They’ve always had the reputation of being slow starters but if they don’t step up soon, it might soon be too late for them. Right from Rohit’s inconsistency to lower order’s form, the list has been never-ending. Moreover, every game they’ve lost, the result could’ve gone either way. It’s high time they start seizing the moment before it’s too late.
