Rohit Sharma wishes his 'darling' Ritika Sajdeh on her birthday with an adorable Instagram post

India’s ace opening batsman Rohit Sharma had landed in Australia the previous week after clearing his fitness issues and undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The batsman had sustained a hamstring injury during the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in a match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and had missed the entire white-ball series against Australia for the same reason.

Instead of boarding the flight to Sydney with the Indian team after the conclusion of IPL 2020, Rohit had travelled to NCA to regain his full fitness. The opening batsman finally cleared his medical assessment on December 11 and took the flight to Australia to be a part of the Indian team for the highly-anticipated Test series against Australia.

Rohit’s presence will be a huge morale booster for the Men in Blue considering they would be without the services of their skipper Virat Kohli for the last three Tests. Virat played his last Test of the series in Adelaide and would be heading back to India on Tuesday, December 22 on paternity leave to be with his wife Anushka Sharma during the birth of their first child.

However, Rohit will be available only for the last two Test matches starting from January 7 and January 15 in Sydney and Brisbane respectively. The Mumbai Stalwart is currently undergoing his 14-day mandatory quarantine period in Australia owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. He can only join the Team India squad if his isolation period goes well, which will end after the second Test between India and Australia at the iconic MCG, Melbourne.

During his quarantine period, Rohit is quite active on social media and has been treating his fans with his new pictures and updates about his routine from his hotel room. On December 21, Monday, the opening batter posted an adorable wish for his better half Ritika Sajdeh on his Instagram handle. Notably, Rohit’s wife Ritika and daughter Samaira didn’t travel with him to Australia.
