Rishabh Pant was having fun out in the middle, both with the bat as he was toying with the South African bowling attack as well as otherwise.

Off the 2nd ball of the 60th over of the Indian second innings, the left-hander drove the ball to cover and then indulged in a funny act. He ran sideways as if pretending to complete a run and then came back. But no harm was done, as he was always inside the crease.

Pant’s gesture sent the commentators into peels of laughter. ‘Brilliant’ shouted Mike Haysman in the commentary box, while another commentator exclaimed ‘Well Done’.

Rishabh Pant’s trailblazing ton helps India set South Africa a target of 212

Rishabh Pant played a sensational knock with the willow in hand. The left-hander blasted a murderous 100* off just 139 deliveries and single-handedly helped India set their opponents a target of 212 to be chased down.

In fact, India were reeling at 58/4 at one stage, and the Proteas were all over the visitors. However, Pant combined with his skipper Virat Kohli and put on a superb partnership of 94 runs for the 5th wicket.

Apart from Pant, Virat Kohli scored a fighting 29 for the Indian side. In fact such was the poor show put up by India with the bat that as many as 8 batters could not even score in double figures.

Marco Jansen was the pick of the bowlers for the South African outfit. The left-arm seamer bagged a four-wicket haul for his side, while the likes of Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada chipped in with 3 wickets each.

The South African scorecard currently reads 46/1, and the Proteas are still 166 runs away from victory. Mohammed Shami scalped the wicket of Aiden Markram, and the right-hander walked back to the pavilion after contributing just 16 runs. Skipper Dean Elgar and Keegan Petersen are currently occupying the crease for the hosts. The series between the two sides is currently locked at 1-1, and the winner of the 3rd Test at Newlands in Cape Town will win the trophy.
