“If Cricket is a Relegion, Sachin is a God”, we all Indians have lived by this phrase virtually ever since Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar made his international debut way back in 1989 to when he called it a day in 2013. He has been a collective pride for the nation and his achievments in the field of cricket will forever be etched in everyone’s memory. After the biopics of former Indian captains Mohammad Azharuddin and MS Dhoni hit the theatres in 2016, Sachin Tendulkar’s upcoming biopic Sachin: A Billion Dreams is all set to hit the box office on 26th May 2017.

When it was announced earlier in the year that a biopic would be made on Sachin Tendulkar there was a buzz and expectation among everyone. Everyone had that sense of anticipation to relive the cricketing journey of the biggest cricketer ever all over again. Sachin: A Billion Dreams directed by James Erskine and produced by Ravi Bhagchandka released its first poster on April 11th through a tweet by the man himself from his official twitter account.

It became viral within a blink of an eye and even the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan expressed his desire to watch the film. He tweeted, “This one I have to watch. Show me soon my friend.” Sachin’s one-time opening partner Virender Sehwag also tweeted the poster. The official teaser of the film was released after three days which caught the attention of everyone.

The film will see Sachin Tendulkar playing the role himself, along with Hritesh Arora as younger Sachin and Mayuresh as Nitin Tendulkar. The role of younger Sachin was initially given to Arjun Tendulkar (Sachin’s son). It was earlier announced that the movie will release on 14th April but the dates have been shifted to May.

With the fan base he has and the amount of respect he gets across the world, one can surely guarantee a box office success for the movie.
