Apart from being known as one of the best batters seen in the cricketing field, Sachin Tendulkar is also known to be generous and helpful not only to his friends but also towards those who want to accomplish something bigger in life.

This time the former India opener’s large-heartedness was there for all to see when he offered help to Dipti Vishvasrao, a 19-year-old resident of Zarye Village in Ratnagiri district.

Dipti is keen on becoming a doctor and always did the hard yards to achieve her goal of being one. But there were setbacks along the way as there was no internet connectivity in her village. Instead, the 19-year-old had to travel a kilometre every day in the lockdown to avail the internet facility for her studies.

Her hard work paid off as she performed exceptionally well in the board examinations and went on to successfully clear the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), to secure a seat at a Government medical college in Akola. After putting in the hard yards and acquiring a seat in the college in, she had to pay the college fees and that seemed to be a problem as she could not afford it due to her father’s modest income.

Sachin Tendulkar’s timely help saves Dipti Vishvasrao

As things started to look grim, timely help from the Master Blaster helped Dipti in chasing her dream. In association with the Seva Sahyog Foundation (SSF), Tendulkar ensured the 19-year-old is pursuing the doctor’s degree and thereby achieving the dream of becoming the first doctor from her village.

A video message from SSF’s Twitter handle had Dipti saying: “I am thankful to Sachin Tendulkar Foundation for awarding me the scholarship. The scholarship has lightened all my financial burdens, which allows me to focus more on my studies.”

“My lifelong dream of becoming a doctor is now moving forward and becoming a reality at Government medical college in Akola. I promise I will work hard and one day I will be able to help other brilliant students of fulfilling their dreams just as Sachin Tendulkar Foundation helped me.”
