Sachin Tendulkar is regarded as one of the best cricketers to have played the sport. Impeccable technique, memorable knocks and an illustrious career speak for the Master Blaster’s success in the sport. Tendulkar brought a new era in cricket and etched his name into the history books by etching many records to his name.

The Indian legend is the only player to have 100 centuries across two formats under his belt. Tendulkar’s aura made him a fan-favourite and he was often hailed as ‘God of Cricket’ by Indian fans. There is no question over the fact that Tendulkar was an inspiration for every child who wanted to break into the Indian side.

Tendulkar was lauded by Indian as well as overseas batsmen for his records and batting expertise. Former Australia skipper Michael Clarke also feels like Virat Kohli’s desire for scoring big tons is quite similar to that of Sachin Tendulkar. According to Clarke, Tendulkar was the hardest to get out considering the technique which the Master Blaster possessed.

Clarke termed Tendulkar as a ‘complete batsman’ and said that he can’t recall a batsman as complete as the Indian veteran during the span of his playing career. 46-year-old Tendulkar is the only player to have played 200 Tests and gathered 100 international centuries.

“Probably technically the best batsman (Tendulkar) I ever saw. The hardest batsman to get out. I think Sachin, technically, didn’t have a weakness. Part of you hoped that he made a mistake,” Clarke told the ‘Big Sports Breakfast’ radio show.

Tendulkar hit 51 centuries in Tests and 49 in ODIs and put an end to his illustrious career by amassing 15,921 runs in 200 Tests and 18,426 in 463 ODIs. Meanwhile, Clarke also heaped praise on current Indian skipper Virat Kohli and hailed him as the best batsman in all formats at the moment.

“I think right now the best batsman across all three formats. His one day and twenty-twenty records are phenomenal and he’s also found a way to dominate Test cricket,” said Clarke.

“What Kohli and Tendulkar have in common is they love making big hundreds,” added the former Australia skipper.
