Sachin Tendulkar predicts the Perth pitch to be a pacer’s paradise

India won the opening match of the four-Test series against Australia at Adelaide Oval by 31 runs. On the contrary, the Aussies found themselves in a rabbit hole after the defeat. They are low in confidence ever since the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa that was evident from the defensive approach they employed in the opening encounter, which eventually backfired.

They are currently playing the second Test at the new Perth Stadium, which has been a witness to only one first-class match before making its Test debut. One day prior to the match, a green top was dished out and it didn’t spring a surprise as the home team would’ve desperately wished to make a comeback. It seemed pretty equivalent to a well-prepared lawn-tennis court.

Sachin makes a prediction

Even as the hosts went unchanged despite the defeat in Adelaide, India were compelled to make a couple of changes as Ravi Ashwin and Rohit Sharma were ruled out due to an abdominal strain and back injury respectively. While Andhra batsman Hanuma Vihari replaced the right-handed Rohit, Umesh Yadav took Ashwin’s place and India went in with an all-pace attack.

India lost the toss and were put in to bowl first by Tim Paine, who reckoned that the cracks will open up due to the heat. Virat Kohli, the Indian captain, expressed his desire to bat first as well. In the meantime, former Indian cricketer and holders of numerous international records Sachin Tendulkar has made a prediction about how the pitch would behave as the match progresses.

The legendary batsman believes that the track would generate a significant amount of pace and bounce. He took to Twitter and wrote, “I feel the wicket has quickened up a bit and as time goes by, it will only become harder and have more pace and bounce. #INDvAUS,”
