Among those present at the Global Citizen India Festival 2016 were former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. It was certainly no surprise that the duo was present for the most awaited concert by British Band Coldplay who performed for the first time in India. Despite the fact that the tickets were as expensive as they were, the audience was well and truly there and it was a sellout nonetheless.

However, in spite of all this, Shah Rukh Khan stole the show when he got into a banter with the batting legend. Apart from introducing the likes of AR Rahman and Jay-Z to Coldplay, Tendulkar, and actress Frieda Pinto were engaged in a conversation with the Bollywood superstar. In fact, his hilarious banter with the Master Blaster was the biggest surprise for the audience.

When SRK asked him if he taught Chris some of the cricketing skills, to which Sachin replied, “No, in fact, he taught me how to play the guitar.” The actor grinned and said, “Great, next time I am having a concert, you will play the guitar for me.” The cricketer replied, “Ok, but only if you open the innings with me when I play cricket next.” The crowd burst out laughing, but SRK was left stunned.

Ever since his retirement, Sachin Tendulkar has been involved in a lot of media work, something that has seen him reveal a few intricate secrets during his massive 22-year career as an Indian cricket. He was also Indian captain for a brief period following the expulsion of Mohammad Azharuddin in 1999. However, a terrible tour of Australia, a few adverse results, and a dip in form ensured that the captaincy was taken away and he was succeeded by Sourav Ganguly.

However, despite all this, the Indian legendary batsman is yet to make his debut in the commentary box, something that has seen the likes of Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman enter.
