The “God of Cricket” Sachin Tendulkar continues to hit the record books even after three years of his retirement. The legend’s autobiography “Playing it my Way” has won the Crossword Book of the year award. In the Autobiography category. The book which was co-authored by cricket historian and writer Boria Majumdar depicted the life and career of Tendulkar in his own words and smashed several records in the publishing world following its release two years back.

The book has given all the fans and fellow cricketers a rare insight into the life of a man who carried the burden of his nation for 24 years, performing consistently at the highest level. The book also entered the Limca Book of Records for being the best-selling adult hardback across both fiction and non-fiction categories. The book also holds the record in retail value terms having recorded up to Rs. 13.51 crore with its cover price being Rs. 899.

Boria, the co-author of the book was pretty pleased with yet another milestone for the book. “It is a great honour. I’m pleased as punch with the award. It’s so good to know that your effort has been appreciated.

“There are so many wonderful memories associated with this book and I am grateful to the fans and critics who have shown so much love and support. It’s a special feeling.”

Sachin Tendulkar, arguably the greatest batsman of all time played his farewell Test against West Indies in 2013 in front of his home crowd. His autobiography was released a year later, in association with his close friend Boria Majumder.

The book is a must read for people across every circle and they will cherish every episode narrated by the Master himself in his own words and penned down by one of the prominent voices in cricket.

The idea of the autobiography was thrown to Tendulkar by Boria as he finally managed to convince master blaster on the need of having a book to leave a lasting legacy on his millions of fans who has loved him endlessly. He wanted Sachin’s story to be told so the world could remember it even after 100 years.
