Saeed Ajmal feels Pakistan don’t have a chance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: Pakistan had a boosted chance in the ICC cricket world cup 2015 with two world-class spinners in Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Hafeez and a young fast bowling unit along with an experienced line-up in the likes of Younis Khan, Misbah ul-Haq and others. But, all their plans were highly dampened when both Hafeez and Ajmal were reported for illegal bowling action to the ICC and were later banned till they got a modified and legal bowling action tested at some technical institute of the international council.
Both Ajmal and Hafeez are yet to get their new unofficial actions tested and approved. And during the interval between Ajmal changing his action and getting it approved the off spinner in an interview said that he feels Pakistan have a very slight chance of advancing into the semifinals of the ICC cricket world cup 2015.
He also said, I feel Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and India all have a great chance of making it to the top 4. As all the teams have class batsmen in AB de Villiers, Brendon McCullum and Virat Kohli who are in great form going into the world cup 2015.
Though Pakistan also have a pretty decent batting who are in form as well, Ajmal said if Pak have to have a chance these batsmen will have to push above their weight and perform exceptionally well. And if Hafeez also fails to clear his altered action the team will be in trouble even further.
The 37-year-old spinner is all expected to fly to the ICC affiliated technical lab Chennai, India this week to get his new action cleared and get back in the recons of the Pakistan team for the ICC cricket world cup 2015 squad.
