Saeed Ajmal served Pakistan cricket for almost 10 years and officially retired on Wednesday during the ongoing National T20 Cup. He led his team Faisalabad to the semifinals of the tournament but lost to Lahore Whites which ended his career. He had already announced earlier this month that he will retire from all forms of cricket after the domestic competition. However, he has thanked everyone who helped him during his illustrious career for Pakistan in a thank you post on social media.

Ajmal finished his cricketing career with the figures of 1/13 in the semifinal in which he bowled his wily off-spin like never before. He was also given a guard of honour by the players of both the team after the match as he went off the field waving to the few spectators present in the Rawalpindi Stadium. Though Pakistan has found it tough to find an off-spinner like him and the search is still going on.

Thank you so much

Saeed Ajmal emotionally bid goodbye to the sport he loved the most in his life and posted a message for his followers to thank everyone involved in shaping his career. “My cricketing career has come to end yesterday but my life is blessed with your love, care, respect, and prays, I Want to thank to my family, friends, fellow Cricketers, coaches, pcb and all who helped me to achieve the highest rank in the game we all love. Thank you so much,” he tweeted.

Here’s the tweet of Ajmal:

Ajmal regretted on Wednesday that his last match wasn’t an international one but also cleared that he was satisfied the way he played his game. He also lashed at the ICC for targetting Pakistani bowlers when it came to illegal actions and urged Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to look into the matter. He also warned the board of neglecting the off-spinners, who are in very fewer numbers in the country.
