Pakistan have taken the Champions Trophy by storm as they defeated England last night to saunter into the finals of the eight-nation tournament. They were clinical as ever, finishing the game with 8 wickets in hand and almost 13 overs to spare. England, who have played outstanding ODI cricket in the recent past, were shockingly knocked out by the No. 8 ranked Pakistan.

It was a stunning performance from Pakistan who did not even stutter even once against the mighty English. Fakhar Zaman and Azhar Ali added 118 for the first wicket which ended any hopes of a comeback by the home side. Hasan Ali was the star with the ball as he ended up winning his second Man of the Match award in four Champions Trophy games. Pakistan are now in the finals, which will be their first ever Champions Trophy finals in eight appearances in the tournament so far. They need to repeat the performance one more time to get their hands on the coveted title.

Pakistan’s smashing win against the more fancied England was bound to erupt Twitter with congratulatory tweets. One such was from former Sri Lanka cricketer Kumar Sangakkara, who has set county cricket on fire hitting 5 hundreds in 5 games which culminated into him reaching 100 centuries in professional cricket. Sangakkara was impressed by Pakistan’s character as they came back from a big defeat against India earlier.

Former Pakistan international Saeed Ajmal was also elated for his country’s win. 15 minutes after Sangakkara’s post, Ajmal copied the status of the Sri Lanka legend and posted it on his Twitter handle.

The only difference between both the tweets was that Ajmal did not tag the PCB twitter handle. Rest everything was exactly the same. Pakistan are known to be very ordinary in one of the most used languages in the world, English. Having said that, a congratulatory message can be in any language as long as your countrymen can read and understand that and there was no need to copy it from someone else, which was pointed out by fans who caught Ajmal’s copying act.

In today’s world, one can never get away with the slightest of bloopers if you are a celebrity. Ajmal must have realised that today.
