All has not been well between the Mumbai Indians batsman Kieron Pollard and the commentator Sanjay Manjrekar. During the previous match of the Mumbai Indians, Manjrekar had opined that a batsman like Kieron Pollard must bat at number 6 or 7. He had remarked that he does not think Pollard has it in him to do well batting high up the order. Things did not seem too different back then.

However, soon after the match, Pollard apparently got to know about the words of Manjrekar and that did not go down well with him. He went on to lash out at the commentator on the social media. His disappointment and disgust were very evident with the tweets that he posted. Going back to the remarks made by Manjrekar, the former Indian cricketer had doubted the versatility of the big West Indies batsman.

“When I look at Pollard, I look at him as more a six-seven-overs-left-in-the-innings batsman. Whether he will be able to bat at No. 3 and whether he has the versatility to pick up the singles if the boundaries are not coming, does he have the range as a batsman? I don’t think so. My view is, maybe six or seven overs left in the innings is the perfect time for Pollard to come in,” Manjrekar had said in the commentary box.

In response to these words, Kieron Pollard had responded back with a couple of tweets trying to vent out his anger. In his first tweet, he had written, “Do you know how I get big so… about BRAINLESS.. words are very powerful .. once it leaves u can’t take it back.. sins of parents fall on..” He had then written another one asking Manjrekar to continue with his ‘verbal diarrhoea. “U finish that sentence .. !! All in all great TEAM effort .. well done team well done Hardik nitesh krunal youngsters doing the business,” he said in another tweet.

Now, during the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Mumbai Indians match, the two people faced off one another yet again. Manjrekar was in the commentary box when Pollard was introduced in the bowling attack. Fellow commentator Ravi Shastri mocked Manjrekar by saying that his ‘buddy’ is in the house. Shastri asked whether he got the chance to have a chat with Kieron Pollard when he went for toss. Manjrekar responded to the entire episode with two epic one liners. He said the following:

“I kept the safe distance, Have kept a couple of security guys outside the commentary box as well. The compliment that he made came out of nowhere,” Manjrekar joked.
